Streets: David Ellis – “PST” (New York)

Versatile artist David Ellis recently turned the Pearl Street Triangle, a pedestrian plaza in Brooklyn, into a canvas for his a new mural. Entitled simply PST, the new piece which took six days to complete depicts an artist being held up by two large hands. The project funded by DUMBO developer Two Trees Management is a reference to the Ground Zero space filled with water while the uplifting hands show that we can pull ourselves up. “Fresh Kills” @ Anonymous Gallery (Mexico)

The Anonymous Gallery kicked off their Mexico City location with a bang with a recently closed group show – Fresh Kills. The title of the showing refers to the 2,200 acres in New York known as Fresh Kills Landfill that will be converted to a huge public park over the course of the next 30 years. The transformation of what was formerly the world’s largest landfill into something beautiful is a metaphor for the type of work the artists in this show do – taking […]

In most parts of the modern world, before a new building or store opens up, a construction phase begins where a monotone barricade (Often tagged “post no bills”) is erected to shield passerby’s from the messiness. As you’ve often seen, street art is often placed there to combat the dreariness. Cosmetic retailer Sephora took the initiative to commission a special outdoor installation to occupy their exterior barricade. With the help of David Ellis, Maya Hayuk, Yuri Shimojo and SASU, Sephora created a live motion mural […]

It seemed that almost everyone came out of the woodworks to donate artwork for the charity auction including a heavy rotation of […]
