Openings: Adam Neate – “Dimensionalism” @ Elms Lester

After two years, UK-based artist Adam Neate’s (interviewed) has returned to London with a new solo Dimensionalism at Elms Lester (showing until the 18th of October). Playing with perspective, painted shadows, space and sculptural form, the artist is pushing further his exploration of 3D paintings. As a result, the featured artworks seem to interact with the public when shifting the viewing angle. Take a look at more photos from the opening below… Photo credit: Butterfly. Last night, Elms Lester held a special private viewing as two top notch international artists visited the London gallery to show off their unique and contrasting geometric styles. The Dutch artist known as Delta (Boris Tellegen) showed off a diverse arsenal of new works (including sculptures, paintings and 3-D installation pieces) which depicted the complex layers and symmetry that we’ve come to expect from the graffiti artist. Dalek (James Marshall – interviewed) balanced out the show with this renowned “superflat” geometric colors and meticulous line-work. […]

Adam NeateÂ has a new work titled “The Concert Pianist” and it looks amazing. Check out the background where Adam incorporates an audience using a photograph. After hanging with Ron English at Dr. Sketchy’s, he invited AM over to his Jersey City studio to check out his upcoming solo show at Elms Lester. The show entitled “Lazarus Rising” is Ron’s first ever UK solo and is his second with Elms Lester. The show opens to the general public May 8th and will run through June 6th. The book catalogs 17 exhibitions over the past 12 years with a Who’s-Who of contemporary urban art: Adam Neate, Jose Parla, Phil Frost, Anthony Lister, Futura, James Marshall (Dalek), Boris Tellegen (DELTA), Mark Dean Veca, Ron English,Â Space Invader, Stash and WK Interact.
