Upcoming: Faile – “Stages” @ Galerie Springmann

After a successful show in Detroit (covered), Faile (featured) has turned their attention to their next project. Entitled Stages, the new exhibition opening on December 2nd at Galerie Springmann in Berlin will feature some more painterly and graffiti-laced works as well as some of the Brooklyn-based duo’s puzzle-based works. Streets: Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada – “Connection” (Beirut)

Recently in Beirut, Lebanon, Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada (featured) completed a mural entitled Connection with support from BAD (Built by Associative Data). The wall now (commissioned by Beirut Digital District) features a young boy exploring an electric circuit board, touching on the need for innovation and education in building a better future for the country. Taking a full ten days for the Cuban-American artist to complete, the piece deftly navigates various architectural elements to spread across the structure. Discuss Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada here.

Last weekend, Shepard Fairey (featured) graced his hometown with an expansive exhibition at a converted Chinatown warehouse (1650 Naud Street), his first showing in Los Angeles in nearly 10 years. Presented by Library Street Collective, Damaged featured over 200 artworks created since 2015 ranging in technique and medium. Previews: Tiffany Bozic – “Spectrum” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

This Thursday night, November 14th, Tiffany Bozic’s newest solo show will open at Joshua Liner Gallery in New York. Entitled Spectrum, the new exhibition will feature 12 acrylic on maple panel works that highlight her skill with wood grain as well as deft use of negative place. Painting with her love for all creatures of the natural world, Bozic is able to capture the fragility of our ecosystem with her surreal compositions, eliciting a emotional response from the viewer. Streets: Mark Jenkins // Lodz Murals (Poland)

Recently in Poland, Mark Jenkins (interviewed) was invited in to create a series of seven installations for a public arts project curated by Michał Bieżyński – Lodz Murals. Working along Piotrkowska street, the American artist stationed a few pieces at ground level and left some that passersby had to look up to see. As per his usual practice, the works were riffs on the human form and their effectiveness hinged on the element of surprise and clever placement. Photo credit: Rafaà Tomczyk.
