During this year’s ADAA Art Show one of the booths that caught our eye was James Cohan Gallery. Featuring works by Contemporary mainstay Fred Tomaselli, this booth focused on exhibiting twenty five pieces from his famous New York Times series. Utilizing the New York Times, Tomaselli collages a light and witty viewpoint with his signature vibrant colors and patterns. Check out this engaging show below.

A couple weekends ago in Chelsea, we attended this year’s Editions|Artists’ Book Fair, which brought together contemporary fine art print and art book publishers and dealers from around the world. Last week, the Brooklyn Museum opened a mid-career survey of the work of Brooklyn-based artist Fred Tomaselli. Tomaselli—who grew up in Southern California, but has been working in Williamsburg since the ’80s—is known for his exciting mixed-media paintings, created by collaging figures and patterns from images of plants, birds and body parts clipped from nature field guides and magazines.
