With our overview of the main fair done, we now move on to the satellite fairs of Frieze week in New York. The Pulse fair was held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea and featured sixty national and international galleries, presenting exhibitions that span across all media, from works on paper, painting, and sculpture, to performance, installation, and video art. There’s a new contender for the biggest baddest art fair in New York City and it hails from overseas. With the Frieze Art Fair opening this weekend in New York, the PULSE Art Fair also took the opportunity to woo art collectors at the same time. Opening today, one of the booths to visit at PULSE is definitely the Toronto-based gallery Cooper Cole and new works from Geoff McFetridge. The LA-based artist will be offering up new paintings that show off his signature minimalistic wit and his interesting ability to break down images into their basic geometric components.
