Openings: Gilbert & George – “Jack Freak Pictures” @ White Cube

London duo Gilbert & George has returned to White Cube to show in their home town for the first time since their 2007 retrospective at the Tate Modern. The show, “Jack Freak Pictures” focuses on the Union Jack flag of Great Britain and G&G’s signature psychedelic photo transformation process. Openings: Louis Vuitton Exhibition – A Passion for Creation (Hong Kong)

Last night, Louis Vuitton premiered a show they curated entitled A Passion for Creation at the Hong Kong Museum of Art with a shortlist of some of the top names in Contemporary Art.  Some of the artists included Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jeff Koons, Paul Chan, Cao-Fei, Yang Fudong, Gilbert & George, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Andreas Gursky, Pierre Huyghe, Bertrand Lavier, and Christian Marclay. The ARMORY Art Show as it’s name implies, was literally a stockpile of the art world’s heavy artillery.
