Coming to Baby Tattooville equipped with a blank canvas and some paint, Greg “Craola” Simkins treated BT attendees with the ultimate in “tabula rasa” art experience.Â Creating coats upon coats of background texture, Greg spent hours building the foundation of what will undoubtedly become another masterpiece.Â Expect to see the completed painting at his upcoming show “The Pearl Thief” opening November 3rd at Gallery 1988 (LA).Â Pictures after the jump.

After a successful exhibition last year (“Beyond Baby Tattooville”), the Riverside Art Museum brings back Baby Tattooville with this year’s roster of artists, with a show called “Son of Baby Tattooville”.Â It was a unique museum group show in that almost all the artists who had works in the show made it in person to the opening.Â Museum-goers were greeted with highly-representational pieces by each artists, such as Audrey Kawasaki‘s classic Two Sisters. The Sea No Evil Charity Art Show is again in full swing. This year’s show is bigger than ever with a large group of artist donating their works to benefit the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Charity: Craola x American Cancer Society Auction

For those curious about the piece that Greg â€œCraolaâ€ Simkins (interviewed) was working on at his skatedeck/livepainting event at Gallery 1988 LA (covered) in June, AM has an update for you. The 36″ x 24″ finished piece entitled “The Good Soul” will be auctioned off via Ebay with all proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society in memory of Jensen’s (owner of g1988) late father, and huge Greg Simkins fan, Lawrence Karp. A couple more images after the jump.
