After almost a year since AM took on Damien Hirst’s Spot Challenge and ran the gauntlet of 11 galleries around the globe, the reward has arrived for the 128 participants who completed the trip around the world. 227 hours – That’s how long it took for AM to travel the globe and complete the Spot Challenge presented by Damien Hirst x Gagosian Gallery. Moving to the next stop in our tour of Damien Hirst’s iconic work in his The Complete Spot Paintings 1986–2011 retrospective occurring across the globe at all branches of the Gagosian, we turn out eyes to Athens. In contrast to the vast Beverly Hill space, the smaller Greek outpost gave us an intimate look at the YBA’s well recognized dotted paintings. More after the jump.

Being located the furthest west of any of the galleries in Larry Gagosian’s dominant empire, Gagosian Gallery, Beverly Hills was the very last spot (no pun intended) to host its public opening reception for Damien Hirst’s The Complete Spot Paintings 1986–2011. First stop on AM’s tour of the Gagosians to check out Damien Hirst’s unprecedented takeover of the blue-chip chain of art galleries is Paris.
