Today in France, the Lyon Contemporary Museum of Art opened a new group exhibition group entitled Comme un parfum d’aventure which included the works of Jean Jullien, Marina Abramović, Guillaume Bijl, Jean Dubuffet, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Yoko Ono, Erwin Wurm and many more. For his part, Jullien has created an installation which he named Digressions pariétales – paintings set against the backdrop of drawings and texts. Following hot on the heals of his recent exhibition in Tokyo, Jean Jullien is currently presenting a new body of work at Alice Gallery in Brussels. The show is entitled Petrichor which is the scent that is released by rain falling on parched soil and which is often linked in our unconsciousness to memory and recollections of the past. Tonight at the Arsham/Fieg Gallery inside KITH’s SoHo store in New York City, Jean Jullien will be presenting a solo with an interesting concept. For this showing, the celebrated French graphic designer and illustrator will be displaying miniature paintings alongside appropriately sized sculptures and 3D models of Daniel Arsham and Ronnie Fieg leading to an optical illusion, especially when seen in photos. GIB which is “BIG” spelled backwards, will be on display through November 18. Via Hypebeast.

Continue his pivot towards watercolor paintings inspired by his time growing up near the sea in Nantes, France, Jean Jullien will be presenting a new show tonight with summertime beach vibes at Chandran Gallery in San Francisco.
