Previews: “Fantastical Beasts” @ Corey Helford Gallery

On April 18th, Corey Helford Gallery will be virtually opening a new group show entitled Fantastical Beasts featuring work from over 50 artists from across the globe (including Sarah Folkman – seen above). Focusing in on mythological creatures, the show lets the participants’ creative juices flow with their renderings and sculptures of beasts from their imagination. Previews: Kazuki Takamatsu – “The Way To Release From The Restraint” @ Corey Helford Gallery

On January 12th, Corey Helford Gallery will be presenting another new body of work from Kazuki Takamatsu in their Downtown Los Angeles showspace. The Way To Release From The Restraint features the Japanese artist’s surreal imagery created with his unique monochromatic depth mapping technique, starting digitally and ending with hand painting. His precociously seductive characters, mixed with symbols of death & violence, balance between the worlds of kawaii and darker themes. Previews: “Lush Life 6” @ Roq La Rue

Tonight in Seattle, Roq La Rue celebrated their re-opening after a two year hiatus with a group show entitled Lush Life 6. Like the previous iterations of the exhibition, artists were free to interpret the theme as they saw fit. Previews: Kazuki Takamatsu – “Decoration Armament” @ Corey Helford Gallery

On April 23rd, Corey Helford Gallery will be hosting a new solo from Kazuki Takamatsu entitled Decoration Armament. This will be the Japanese artist’s third showing with the gallery in Los Angeles and will feature his depth map pieces created through his unique process that starts digitally and ends hand painted. Always dealing with ideas of death, spirituality, and the younger generation, his surreal images are beautiful to behold with complex layers that seem to glow.
