Openings: “Supersonic Electric Invitational 2” @ Spoke Art

Last Thursday evening, Spoke Art Gallery in San Francisco hosted the opening of the 2nd Annual Supersonic Electric Invitational to a packed house with many of the 32 artists in attendance. The show is curated by Zach Tutor, who founded and runs the Tumblr-based contemporary art blog Supersonic Electronic, by choosing some of his favorite artists who he felt are innovative, dynamic and compelling. One of the first shows of the new year will be the 2nd Supersonic Electric Invitational held at the Spoke Art Gallery in San Francisco. Openings: Ken Garduno – “Golden Structure” @ LeBasse Projects – Chinatown

A couple Fridays ago, Ken Garduno presented new body of work at the LeBasse Projects Chinatown location. Named Golden Structure, the exhibition exemplifies the artist’s technique with watered down acrylic paintings and his thematic explorations that revolve around the relationships between men and women. Preview: Ken Garduno – “Golden Structure” @ LeBasse Projects – Chinatown

Tomorrow night, August 19th, Ken Garduno will be presenting a new body of work at the LeBasse Projects Chinatown location. Golden Structure features the LA-based artist’s watercolor and ink paintings where he will be exploring themes of relationships. The often unsettling facial expressions and settings create a “dialog riddled with jealosy, betrayal, and a prounounced sense of sexual tension.” More preview images after the jump…
