If you are lucky, there may be the customary free donuts – besides the amazing art of course – for those attending although you may have to be satisfied with a performance […]

RISK Paints Santa Monica Home

You may remember last year September, we told you about Risk and Retna (featured) collaborating on painting a house in Santa Monica. That controversial project raised money and awareness for the Heal the Bay Foundation, but drew the wrath of neighbors and resulted some drama and threatened fines from city officials. This time, developer Adam Corlin has commissioned only RISK to cover a new property, minus the scaffolding, with his distinctive abstract style. Look for a more revealing look in May in conjunction with RISK’s upcoming solo show. Discuss Risk here.

We have some exciting news for Twist fans out west. Right on the heels of announcing an upcoming exhibition from George Condo set for opening this Saturday, the PRISM Gallery in Los Angeles has given word that Barry McGee has “next” (come May 12th). What a glorious run of three shows for the architectural showspace, as they only recently played host to Os Gemeos’ mind-blowing installations and paintings. If the Bay-area legend’s 2009 showing at the gallery is any indication, fans are in for a […]
