After showing at La Luz de Jesus in June, Glenn Barr has opened his next show, this time in Italy. Held at MondoPop in Rome, Faces & Small Epics is billed as the Detroit-based painter’s first European solo. Jasper Wong – “Little Shop of Wonder” @ Loft In Space

Loft In Space, the site of this year’s (covered) and next year’s POW WOW, was recently converted into a giant coloring book by gallery director Jasper Wong. The very busy and versatile designer, artist, illustrator, and curator is also one of the co-owners of Above Second Gallery in Hong Kong, site of an Arrested Motion group show at the end of next month. Tomorrow, October 26th (3pm EST), Esao Andrews will be selling 16″ x 20″ prints Drifters, a painting first seen at his New York solo (covered) back in September of last year. Earlier this month, the Last Rites Gallery in New York continued their patronage of the dark arts with a solo exhibition from Laurie Lipton. In an interview with us leading up the show, the LA-based painter told us that Carnival of Death was inspired by the Day of the Dead Festival in Mexico as well as her experience with her mother’s death. This past Saturday night, Ray Caesar presented his newest solo show, A Dangerous Inclination, to the Culver City art crowd. Featuring new digital creations as well as some favorites from the past, the show at Corey Helford Gallery put his genius in finding beauty in the disturbing and grotesque on display, something he talked to AM about in an interview we conducted with him last week. Baby Tattooville ’11: Goodie Bag

We still have a couple more things to cover before we close the book on this year’s Baby Tattooville. One of these is the much anticipated “goodie bag” that attendees to the annual art retreat receive at the end of the weekend. Besides the sweet Diesel Fuel print set and reproduction of the Art Jam painting, a collection of other limited editions, drawings, and art paraphernalia was given away just before the trip home.
