This Thursday night (December 10th), the Paul Kasmin Gallery (293 Tenth Avenue location) will be hosting the opening of Mark Ryden’s first solo in New York since 2010 (covered). The AM team spent couple of hours yesterday browsing the two beachside pavilions of the PULSE art fair in Miami. About month ago we introduced the new charity art auction website solidARTy.org. After a successful launch and donations by many artists from around the globe, the project seems to be growing bigger and better by the day. Adding new works on daily basis, they recently successfully auctioned works by artists like Sandra Chevrier, Isaac Cordal, Fintan Mage, Martin Whatson, and Fintan Switzer. James Jean – Apple Pencil // Ipad Pro

Gifted artist James Jean (interviewed) recently was recruited by Apple to promote their new Pencil stylus which pairs nicely with the newly released iPad Pro. Jean put the novel technology to good use by drawing his amazing imagery directly onto the tablet, which you can see in the images included here. Basel Week Miami ’15 / Showing: SCOPE

One of the first satellite fairs we hit during Basel Week Miami was SCOPE Miami, situated nicely in their pavilion on the beach off Ocean Drive. Celebrating its 15th anniversary edition with 120 international exhibitors from 22 countries and 57 cities, the fair had something for everyone including this Suck Face bronze from D*Face seen above and the Felipe Pantone installation seen directly below. Previews: “Charismatic Megafauna” @ Roq La Rue

On Thursday night (December 3rd), Roq La Rue will be opening a new group show entitled Charismatic Megafauna. Artists Adam Doyle, Brad Woodfin, Camille Rose Garcia, Chris Berens, Femke Hiemstra, Jacub Gagnon, Jean Pierre Arboleda, Jessica Joslin (seen above), Joey Bates, Josh Keyes, Josie Morway, Justin Beckman, Laurie Hogin, Lindsey Carr, Michael Alm, Peter Ferguson, Peter Gronquist, and Scott Musgrove were asked to contribute a piece that focuses on some of the world’s largest and most spectacular species, and even what appear to be some mythical ones.
