Openings: “The New Realism” @ Thinkspace Art Gallery

Last Saturday night, the Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City opened a new show featuring some of their young artists, particularly those whose work involved elements of photo-realism. For “The New Realism”, Aaron Nagel, Jeff Ramirez, Jennifer Nehrbass, Linnea Strid, Nathan DeYoung and Pakayla Rae Biehn each put forth their vision of the human form but with their unique twists. Preview: “New Realism” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Thinkspace Gallery will be opening a new group exhibition this Saturday night, December 11th, highlighting some of their artists whose work utilize elements of  photorealism. “New Realism” will include pieces from Aaron Nagel, Jeff Ramirez, Jennifer Nehrbass, Linnea Strid, Nathan DeYoung and Pakayla Rae Biehn. Preview: “The Next Generation” Group Show @ London Miles Gallery

The largely USA based new contemporary art movement continues it’s assault on the UK next week with “The Next Generation” opening Friday June 11th at London Miles Gallery. Curated by Culver City’s Thinkspace Gallery director, Andrew Hosner, the exhibition promises new work from 45 artists, all presented in a common format of 12 square inches. ARTWALK Culver City: Thinkspace Gallery

Last weekend, Culver City hosted their ARTWALK 2009 event with over thirty galleries throughout the area participating. Thinkspace Gallery, located in the Silver Lake district, got in on the action as well, opening a one day pop-up gallery on Washington Blvd. Fans packed the rear gallery area throughout the day to see the live-painting demonstration by Asylm, Anthony Clarkson, Mear One, Michael Alvarez, Michael Pukac, Nathan DeYoung and Zoso.
