Armory Week ’12: Scope Art Fair

One of the mainstay satellite fairs during Armory Week is the Scope Art Fair. This year’s edition rocked a new location just blocks from the main Armory Art Show (here & here) and gained some fresh galleries go along with its revamped look. As with most fairs we caught works by artists from around the globe and we also ran into a few familiar faces to go along with the infusion of new blood. Check it out after the jump.

Armory Week ’12: ADAA Art Show – First Look

The Armory Art Show (here & here) may be the flagship event of Armory Week in New York, but the most prestigious title this year goes to another. The ADAA Art Show held at the Park Avenue Armory (covered) was a smaller, but more selective fair. Like a small jewelery box, this event drew some of the top galleries from around the nation. With only 72 booths, the fair offered an intimate viewing and a distinguished list of notables such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Wayne Thiebaud, […]

Armory Week ’12: Volta Show – First Look

Continuing our Armory Week coverage we move on to Volta. This fair is the little brother to the main Armory Art Show (here & here). For Volta, selected galleries don’t exhibit various artists from their roster, instead they focus on one artist to showcase at their booth. This rule kept our head spinning to a minimum, but nonetheless the visual talent had our eyes dancing around the whole time. Check it out after the jump.

Enjoy the viewing as we work on getting you more coverage of additional select satellite fairs and events. Photoset after the jump…

Armory Week ’12: Armory Art Show – First Look (Part I)

Yesterday, AM attended the private viewing of the Armory Art Show which officially kicked off a crazy week of art in New York. Similar to Basel Miami’s first look, many of the art world’s notable collectors queued up patiently for the clock to strike noon so they could pounce on their favorites at the the fair’s many quality galleries. It took us hours to run through and scan the booths to bring you a selection of images. Check it out after the jump.

Amory Week ’12: Richard Heller Gallery

As you must have realized from the article on our studio visit with Aakash Nihalani that we published yesterday, Armory Week is just around the corner. Running from March 8th to 11th, the preeminent New York art fair (along with satellites) will be keeping AM busy in the upcoming days. One of the booths in the main fair that we will be visiting will be Richard Heller’s with his lineup of Corey Arnold, Amy Bennett, Ernesto Caivano, Edward del Rosario, David Jien, Marion Peck, Paco Pomet, […]
