Earlier this month (June 1-8), the Viborg International Billboard Painting Festival kicked things off with new work from Nychos. The Vienna-based street muralist brought his cartoonish anatomical aesthetic to Denmark and painted a series of works on billboards & walls, ranging from painterly techniques to graffiti. Other artists scheduled to make appearances include Blade, John Howard, Horphe, Ken Sortais, Christian Dinesen, and Anders Reventlov Larsen. Currently on display through the weekend at the Galo Art Gallery in Torino, Italy is a solo show from Austrian painter Nychos. Pellis Os Omentum includes a series of paintings and drawings that closely references the anatomical focus and cartoonish quality of his street work. After collaborating on an epic wall with Jeff Soto (covered) and painting a piece at the Lana Lane Studios headquarters for POW WOW Hawaii, Nychos took time to work on a mural of a more personal nature. As you can see, this piece is adjacent to the Rone x Wanderlust piece seen partially to the side in some photos… Discuss POW WOW here. Discuss Nychos here.
