Streets: Walk & Talk Festival (Part II) – Liqen

Mexico-based street artist Liqen, who was just recently in upstate New York for the Wall Therapy Festival (covered), has traveled now to the Azores for the Walk & Talk Festival.  Vhils had already made his mark in San Miguel, and now Liqen has done the same with this surreal spaceship on the side of a building entitled Satellite Souleater. Discuss Liqen here.

Streets: Walk & Talk Festival (Part I) – Vhils

After hitting up Komafest in Norway with new mural on a novel new medium – wood – Vhils has headed over to Azores, Portugal for the Walk & Talk Festival. This will be the second trip for the Lisbon-based street artist as he gifted the archipelago with several pieces last year if you remember. This time around, he made his mark on an abandoned tower  – you can’t get better placement than that. Look for more photos soon as Liqen, Mark Jenkins, Remed and more are still […]

Portuguese artist Vhils’ unique work is always in high demand and because of this, he has been busy hitting up the hottest street art events around the world recently. Ever since we filmed his work in Los Angeles in August, he has consecutively hit up the Fame Festival, Walk & Talk Festival, a store facade in the UK, Nuart Festival, the Minotaur event, Wynwood Walls in Miami, and now finally back to his home country for the WOOL Festival in Covilhã. More photos after the […]

Streets: Walk & Talk Festival (Azores) Part II

Besides the amazing boat mural that Phlegm painted for the Walk & Talk Festival in Azores, Portugal, there were also some other familiar names who got up some quality work. Vhils did his home country proud with some chiseled local portraiture, Interesni Kazki continued to impress (see Ibiza) with another large surreal mural, and Escif threw up a cryptic wall with a dinosaur and block lettering. These fore-mentioned artists along with 26 others (20 of them from Portugal) certainly went a long way in fulfilling the vision of tranforming the […]

Street: Phlegm for Walk & Talk Festival (Azores)

Despite a time-consuming process of producing the recently released handmade and silkscreened Illuminated Alphabet zine, Phlegm continues to find time to put in work on the streets. This amazing new piece continues his fascination with aquatic vessels and was painted for the recent Walk & Talk Festival in Azores, Portugal and only took four days despite its massive size and detail. Among the other 30 artists making appearances on São Miguel island were Vhils, Interesni Kazki, and Escif. More pics after the jump via Unurth.

Streets: Brad Downey in Lisbon (Crono Project)

In addition, Downey’s work features in the group show What Is Contemporary Art? which opened Friday at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde, Denmark. Later in March, he’s taking part in the group exhibition Wilde Zeichen at the Kunsthalle Krems museum in Krems, Austria. In a post […]
