Having shown AM readers some outdoor work that was put up as part of Street a.k.a. Museum (curated by LeBasse Projects’ Beau LeBasse) at the Portsmouth Museum of Art in New Hampshire, we now bring you some glimpses of the work inside the museum, as well as additional street work. Getting up in the unlikely locale of Tennessee, Madrid-based REMED aka Guillaume Alby painted this mural for UrbanArt, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to development of public art in Memphis. Entitled Man & Woman Facing Each Other, the wall is a perfect example of the Spanish street artist’s organic geometry and lesser seen letter work. When we last updated you on Spanish street artist Sam3, he had just completed a set of three sweet murals in Madrid. We now have images of another great piece (his newest) also featuring his signature shadow technique, this time in Poznań, Poland, painted for the Outer Spaces Festival. Entitled Power to the People, this newest wall is dedicated to the Spanish Revolution and the current May 15th movement. More pics after the jump…

Finding time before his opening in Los Angeles tomorrow night, Hush’s (interviewed) hit up a wall with his multi-textured technique. The mural at De La Barracuda is consistent with his new body of work that plays with the idea of duality through a series of Twin paintings. On a busy Saturday night of art, make sure you make time to head over to New Image Art between 7-10pm.

NY graf legend Eric Haze recently flew out to Los Angeles to participate in the MOCA’s Art in the Streets exhibition, but being the busy bee he always is, he also took some time to put up some street work in the City of Angels. In yet another example of street art and graffiti’s acceptance and proliferation in fine art institutions across America, the Portsmouth Museum of Art hosts Street a.k.a. Museum, curated by LeBasse Projects’ Beau LeBasse. The exhibition, which opened on May 11 and runs until Sept. 11 features familiar names: Bumblebee, Herakut (fresh off their beautification of Los Angeles), Shark Toof, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, and Andreas von Chrzanowski. MOCA’s indoor space (covered), along with the surrounding outdoor landscape (covered), was infiltrated by Invader’s mosaic minions for Art in the Streets. Apparently, his street invasion, while technically unsanctioned, was so egregious that he was bestowed the unwelcome honor as the first artist to be arrested – though later released and allowed to leave the country – by Los Angeles Police.
