Streets: Barbara Kruger // High Line (New York)

Joining the plethora of artists that have had art visible from the High Line in New York, Barbara Kruger unveiled a mural she designed earlier this year (and on view through March 2017). Streets / Recap: Urban Nation // Project M/9 (Berlin)

Continuing their longstanding public arts program, Urban Nation in Berlin recently completed their ninth edition – Project M/9. Curated by JUSTKIDS and StreetArtNews, the event this time hosted Borondo (seen above), Fafi, Bicicleta Sem Freio, Askew, 1010, and Eron as they painted walls in the capital city with “Colors” as the theme. Streets: Shepard Fairey (Paris)

Building on the themes he first unveiled with an installation on the first and second floor of the Eiffel Tower back in November, Shepard Fairey (featured) opened a new solo last night at Galerie Itinerrance entitled Earth Crisis (more on this later). Recap: Rose Beton Festival (Toulouse)

Curated by Tilt, the second edition of the Rose Beton Festival in Toulouse (FR) paid tribute to the graffiti scene. The festival kicked off with an exhibition at Chateau d’Eau featuring the iconic photographs by Martha Cooper  & Henry Chalfont (interviewed) as well as emerging photographer Sylvain Fargot. The Musee des Abattoirs is then taken over with installations by Boris Tellegen (covered), Mist, and Craig Costello while Tilt brought back his Voyage Retour car installation that he created during his recent residency at Jardin Rouge in Marrakech. Previews: Josh Keyes – “Overgrown” @ Archimedes Gallery

On Saturday night (June 25th), Josh Keyes (interviewed) will be opening a joint show with Eva Funderburgh entitled Overgrown at Archimedes Gallery in Cannon Beach. For fans of his work, the title immediately makes sense and the first few paintings that have been revealed certainly play on this theme. Also, starting at 10 am for those present at the gallery only, Keyes will make two new prints available – Return & L’apres-midi d’un faune (Afternoon of a Faun) – more details here. Openings: Futura – “NEW HORIZONS” @ Library Street Collective

Last weekend, Library Street Collective in Detroit hosting the opening for Futura latest solo show entitled NEW HORIZONS. Along with all new paintings that features some of the graffiti legend’s signature abstract color studies with gyroscopic structures as well as his old school pointman characters, new large-scale pieces were prepared for the outdoor space in BELT Alley for the PUBLIC MATTER series of works. The Centro de Arte Contemporáneo of Málaga recently opened Miss Van‘s first show at a museum. Next door to the main hall of Art Basel (covered – part 1, part 2), the Unlimited section was reserved for mostly large site specific installations.
