Starting on August 3rd at Jonathan LeVine Gallery, some of their established as well as new artists will be presenting work in a new group show. Entitled Cluster, the exhibition gave the participants a chance to interpret the idea of cluster or to arrange a grouping of their work to display. POW! WOW! ’15 / Streets: Case Maclaim x Smithe

Mixing their two different but very compatible styles, Case Maclaim from Germany and Smithe from Mexico created one of the most interesting pieces on this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii (more coverage here). The imagery they chose was a commentary about the preservation of coral life and the effect of human activity on its future. Smithe painted a detailed illustrative part showing a human head with coral for brains, surrounded with different organic & surrealistic elements and creatures. Streets: Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans – Mexico Expedition

A couple of weeks ago Pangeaseed.org wrapped up another praiseworthy project on the island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico – Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans – Mexico Expedition. For this event that took place from July 20-28, they invited a group of international artists to help raise awareness for the conservation of the ocean. Similar to what they did with POW! WOW! Hawaii earlier this year (covered), 1xRun.com released a series of limited edition prints along with this event, with 100% of the proceeds going towards funding the programme. Leading things off is an epic collaboration in Los Angeles arranged by Branded Arts at the Gabba Gallery between Dabs Myla, Rime, Persue, Nychos, and Askew (photo by Birdman).
