Upcoming: Snarkitecture / Daniel Arsham – “The Beach” @ Sydney Festival

For this year’s Sydney Festival, Cofounders Alex Mustonen and Daniel Arsham from Snarkitechture will be bringing their The Beach installation (see last year) back at the The Cutaway at Bangaroo Reserve. The 60m x 23m ball pit may be the world’s largest and will feature 1.1 million balls this time, an ocean of monochromatic fun for visitors to dive into. Head over here for more information. Basel Week Miami ’15: Snarkitecture x NetJets Aircraft Bombardier

After creating a nice installation and store last year (covered) for Basel Week Miami, Snarkitecture is back with a new project for 2015 that they just unveiled at the Miami International Airport. The New York design studio established by Alex Mustonen and artist Daniel Arsham collaborated with Netjets to paint over one of their signature series global 5000 aircraft to mimic the concept of an ombre sky, the occurrence seen when flying at dawn or dusk when the horizon appears to be graded in color. Showing: Snarkitecture / Daniel Arsham – “The Beach” @ National Building Museum

For those who have a chance to visit Washington DC through September 7th, make sure you stop by the National Building Museum to check out an immersive installation from Snarkitecture. Cofounders Alex Mustonen and Daniel Arsham have imagined up a beach with an ocean of 750,000 recyclable plastic balls. The monochromatic and minimalistic installation certainly mirrors the aesthetic seen in many of their previous projects and is certainly something visitors of all ages will enjoy. Basel Week Miami ’14: Snarkitecture Installation @ Shop Alchemist

There is still time for those in town for Basel Week Miami to stop by the Airball installation created by Daniel Arsham of design studio Snarkitecture and the Miami Beach based Alchemist. Open through tomorrow on level 5 of the the Herzog & de Neuron designed parking garage (1111 Lincoln Road), site of another event in 2013, the specially designed basketball arcade-style games are the main attraction along with some goodies for sale.
