Slated for release in early 2017 is a new animated series on Netflix from FriendsWithYou called True & the Rainbow Kingdom. Those familiar with the Los Angeles-based collective’s imagery will agree that their characters and visual language would be perfect for a kids show. Continuing to collaborate artists that speak to a new generation of viewers (see KAWS & Dabs Myla), MTV has tapped the visual language of Jen Stark for 2015’s VMA. Working with host Miley Cyrus on this year’s award show, the Los Angeles-based artist looks to be integrating her recognizable psychedelic & colorful imagery in animations, video spots (example below), ads, and artwork for the stage, among other things.
