Continuing to collaborate with POW! WOW! Hawaii (2020 edition started this weekend), Thinkspace will putting their Exploring The New Contemporary Movement VII group show at Wade Warehouse (449 Cooke Street) on view from February 11-15. ON THE MOVE, a new group show opened tonight at KIRK Gallery in Denmark featuring the work of Fintan Mcgee, Joram Roukes, Robert Proch, Christian Verginer, Telmo Miel (seen above), Wiley Wallace, James Bullough, Ratur & Sckaro and Wes21. The gallery in Aalborg is responsible for the Out in the Open project that has brought many muralists to the area including some who are included in this exhibition. With this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii fast approaching, it’s time to preview the annual associated Exploring The New Contemporary Movement group exhibition (see 2017 & 2016 & 2015 & 2014) curated by Thinkspace. The fifth iteration of the group exhibition will open on February 11th and will once again be held at the Honolulu Museum of Art School, featuring a larger 24″ x 24″ format. Openings: “Flourish” @ Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum

Over the weekend, the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum in Arizona hosted the opening of Flourish, a group show curated by Thinkspace Gallery. Over 100 artists contributed to the exhibition but the standouts for us were the murals from Esao Andrews and Nosego as well as a sweet hanging installation from Felipe Pantone. Showing in associated POW! WOW! Hawaii through the tomorrow at the Honolulu Museum of Art School is the 4th annual Exploring The New Contemporary Movement group exhibition (see 2016 & 2015 & 2014) curated by Thinkspace. Artists were asked to contribute 12 x 12″ pieces leading to a visually conforming display of works. Rounding things out was a showcase for Shok-1 (seen below) and a Homer Simpson x Banksy parody installation by Oak Oak (seen above). This Sunday, POW! WOW! Hawaii (more info here) kicks off with a re-occurring show curated by Thinkspace at the Honolulu Museum of Art School entitled Exploring The New Contemporary Movement (see 2016 & 2015 & 2014). As in the past, the format is 12 x 12″ works, leading to a visually congruent display of artworks, some of which were inspired by island life. Oak Oak will also be presenting an installation as part of the exhibition and Shok-1 will be the featured artist.
