New Image Art packed the house last night with their “American Realities” group show featuring the work of Barry McGee, working under the pseudonym Lydia Fong, his wife Clare Rojas, and their long-time friend and collaborator Andrew Jeffrey Wright.

McGee presented some classic pieces containing his iconic figures and continued his exploration of geometric patterns and shape with an installation that encompassed one of the gallery’s walls. Fans were excited that the normally private and reclusive McGee graciously chatted with and signed and sketched for all in attendance.

Rojas lined the gallery’s walls with her signature folk style work and under the guise of Peggy Honeywell, delighted the crowd with her stellar musical performance as seen in the video below. Rounding out the exhibition was founding member of Philadelphia’s Space 1026, Andrew Jeffrey Wright, who presented a mix of paintings, video and installation pieces.
