Openings: Rob Sato – “Junk History” @ Giant Robot (SF)

Last Saturday evening marked the opening of Rob Sato’s solo show, “Junk History”, in San Francisco at Giant Robot. This was his second solo show, following his first one at Giant Robot’s Los Angeles location last year. Featured in the show were largest pieces he had ever worked on, which still required close inspection to observe every minor detail packed into the painting. On the opposite side of the spectrum were tiny works painted on slide film that were still in his signature watercolor style. Also available at the gallery was a wide array of framed and unframed prints of previous works, posters and other merchandise.

I like taking terrible photographs of stuff that visually appeals to me. By night I am a stencil graffiti artist that goes under the name: Banksy.
