AM had the pleasure to visit with Todd Schorr (interviewed) last week in his studio as he was putting on the finishing touches for his upcoming show at Otis College of Art and Design at the end of this month (June 26th). The exhibition entitled “Designed for Extinction” will be similar to his highly successful show last year at the San Jose Museum of Art (covered) in the sense that it will be a retrospective. However, this time around, the works included will span the last ten years (since Todd moved to Los Angeles), instead of 25 years like in San Jose.

Also, we are sure his fans will be excited to hear that he will also have several new paintings like the stunning “Atomic Holiday” painting that you can see peeking out in the image above, about a kind of a nostalgic apocalypse (you’ll understand when you see the full painting). We’ll have the full studio visit for you as the show gets closer so stay tuned…
