With the general opening slated for this Wednesday (April 4th), everything is set and ready for the hordes of fans that will be pouring in when the doors open on the Damien Hirst retrospective at the Tate Modern. To prepare yourself for the spectacle, here are some photos (taken by Happy Famous Artists) from the press preview that reveals a substantial selection of work from the last 25 years of the contemporary art giant’s career. On display are some of his most iconic pieces – the shark in formaldehyde, the spot paintings, the medical-themed works, the spin paintings, and more. Despite a plethora of these fan favorites, it looks like Hirst still had a few surprises up his sleeves including his rarely seen In and Out of Love two-room installation with live butterflies.
