Before heading to New York for his big solo at the new Galerie Perrotin location in November, KAWS will be taking a side trip to Philadelphia for a show opening on October 11th at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA). Besides working on the institution’s inaugural plinth sculpture, the Brooklyln-based artist will also install additional work in the galleries of the Historic Landmark Building. If you remember, his 16-foot Companion figure was put on display at the Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station by the PAFA back in April already so this new exhibition will round things out nicely for his fans in Philly.
