Two years after his last solo show with Galerie Wolfsen in Denmark (covered), El Mac is back with his newest solo show Objects At Rest, opening in Aalborg on the 12th of September. With this exhibition, the graffiti artist and painter that is primarily known for his unique figurative large murals, is for the first time showing his pencil studies and drawings.

El Mac’s unmistakable line work is instantly recognizable whether you’re looking at his larger than life wall pieces, paintings, or rare editions he released over the years. No matter if using fat caps on a spray paint or brush with acrylic, he has a unique way of dissecting the image into layers of subtle lines. But, it’s his drawings and studies that reveal his technique and show us the way that he really sees the world around us. Through layers of ripple-like lines, the LA-based artist is recreating the reality he’s seeing on his travels and his private life, both very detailed and realistic, but at the same time ghost-like and transparent. El Mac has been sharing his drawings over the years on his social media, but this show will be the first time these are exhibited in public and available for collectors.
