Streets: Andreas Englund for Wall\Therapy (Rochester)

Back in 2011, we did Art Focus feature on Andreas Englund, introducing our readers to his imagery of the everyday life of superheroes and the comedy that ensues when dealing with common situations that happen to us mortals. Fast forward five years and we can see that he just completed a mural for the Wall\Therapy event in Rochester, New York, only his second public wall painted ever. Transferring his character to the large scale, the Swedish artist handles the dimensionality of the piece perfectly. Give […]

Streets: Case for Walltherapy (Rochester)

This last week brought new work from German street artist Case for the Wall Therapy event in Rochester, New York. Following up their 2012 rendition with even a stronger roster this year, the city was gifted many new pieces including two murals from the Maclaim crew member. Particularly stunning was the tribute seen above to Martin Luther King near Park & Colby featuring the colorful hand styles that he has been using recently in his walls. Streets: DALeast (Rochester, NY)

Chinese artist DALeast (interviewed), was back in Rochester, NY, last week. Almost exactly one year since last time he visited the city (covered), he once again left a recognizable mural for the Wall Therapy festival. This time, he worked on a big 6 meters high wall by 30 meters long approximately, and created an image that fits beautifully with his dynamic 3D style. This image of an eagle taking off and picking up the wave, while the boat that is almost capsized by it looks like it’s […]
