Following a two week run at Cork Street Galleries, Migrate Art‘s Multicolour group show has now transferred to Phillips‘ exhibition space ahead of the works being auctioned on Thursday in aid of organizations working to help those affected by the ongoing global refugee crisis. The show brings together an impressive array of 31 artists including Turner Prize winners Anish Kapoor, Rachel Whiteread, Jeremy Deller, Mark Wallinger and Richard Deacon. Banksy Painting Shreds Itself After Selling At Sotheby’s

The genius of Banksy was on display again Friday night in London when his iconic Girl Red Balloon sold for a record £953,829. Right after the hammer, the piece from the British artist ran through what appeared to be a remotely activated shredder hidden in the unusually thick frame, leaving half of the work hanging from the bottom in strips. Benefits: NY4PR Auction

Tomorrow night (November 2nd) in New York, there will be an art auction and benefit for the victims of Hurricane Maria (proceeds go to the Hispanic Federation’s disaster relief fund: Unidos). NY4PR (New York for Puerto Rico) will be held at Think!Chinatown x ChaShaMa space (384 Broadway) from 6-9pm and feature contributions from a wide range of artists (see list below). We recently got an update from solidARTy.org that they are started another round of charity art auctions on their website. The project launched back in November by auctioning artworks donated by artists, galleries and studios, with 100% of the proceeds going to AreYouSyrious.org organization. So far they have raised over €20,000 for the cause and are now continuing their efforts by offering more original and rare, editioned work by world renowned street, urban and contemporary artists.
