Releases: Mark Ryden – “Yoshi – The Forest Spirit” Poster

It looks as though there will be a new release from Mark Ryden, a reproduction of his painting Yoshi – The Forest Spirit, based on a painting seen at Art Basel Miami at the Michael Kohn Gallery booth in 2007. Priced at $250, sized at 19 x 23″, and with a run of 1000, the edition will be available presumably on January 15th from Portherhouse with the proceeds to benefit The Nature Conservancy. Releases / Streets: Nate Lowman Bullet Hole Print and NYC Wall

The Details Guild is an organization that works with leading artists to broaden community interaction with art through public installations, art education and mentoring programs.  They recently called upon Nate Lowman (who had a triptych shown at this year’s Basel Miami), who, with the help of some students, created a wall mural that went up on the corner of West 13th and Washington in NYC. In addition, he made a signed print edition of 50 featuring his signature bullet hole to raise money for teen […]

Releases: Tom French – ‘Shrouded Perceptions’ Screenprint

It looks like Tom French (featured) has been working on more of the trompe l’oeil skull pieces recently seen at his showing with Vincent Michael Gallery. Shrouded Perceptions is a new screenprint available as of 14th December from Zero Cool Gallery for a very wallet friendly £60. Here’s the details – Silk Screen on Somerset 300gsm White Satin (100% cotton rag, acid free with four deckle edges) / Edition of 30 /41cm x 29cm. We also hear from Zero Cool that they are adding new […]

Releases: KAWS x Robert Lazzarini – “Distorted Companions”

Wow, what a stunning collaboration between Robert Lazzarini, well known for his distorted sculptures, and KAWS in what we like to call the “Distorted Companions”. Lazzarini, who you may remember recently exhibited his twisted brass knuckles alongside KAWS’ work at the It Ain’t Fair exhibition (covered) by OHWOW during Art Basel Week, is a fellow Brookylnite and seems to be a natural partner for the re-engineering of the iconic figure on its 10th anniversary. Early word (which may or may not be accurate) on these […]

Releases: Banksy – “Choose Your Weapon” Print

That Banksy image (Choose Your Weapon) you first saw on the streets here, and then at the Marks & Stencils show (covered), is finally being released as expected. The gray colorway seen above will be an edition of 100, with a smaller edition of 25 for the red, blue and green versions, each priced at £450.00  (with all of Banksy’s royalties going to the VOINA artist cooperative in Russia). To win a chance to purchase these prints, go register for an online lottery at Pictures […]

Releases: Mark Jenkins – “Flower Signs & Twins”

Mark Jenkins is back in the house, this time with something for (almost) everyone. He’s released two editions based on his publicly installed pieces – Flower Signs and Twins. We at AM have always loved his unique sculptures & installations, but rarely do we see an editioned piece from Jenkins. What we like about this is that both are hand made and individually signed. Get yours here while you can. Check out the image of the twins after the jump.

Basel Week Miami ’10 – Kris Kuksi @ Joshua Liner Gallery

When it comes to artwork that stops you dead in your tracks and forces you to take a closer look, there are few artists that embody this show-stopping quality quite like Kris Kuski. Exhibiting with Joshua Liner Gallery at SCOPE Miami (teased), the Kansas based artist’s mixed-media assemblages seem to magnetically draw the viewer in close, acutely heightening their levels of perception in an attempt to catch every last nuanced detail. Utilizing a range of materials sourced in a near endless quest, Kris constructs his […]

Although David Choe’s (featured) is currently in Miami, he’s found time to release the remaining “Tokyo Girl” prints from his recent Secret Studio show in Japan. The 17 x 17 inch print, inspired by “half-Japanese women and Shibuya,” is in a edition of 76 (priced at $250) and will be available today at noon pacific time at Trapeze Editions. For those looking for something a little more limited (run of 5), a larger 44 x 44 inch version will up for grabs for $808 as […]

Releases: Mark Ryden “YHWH” Black & White Vinyl Figure Set

With the release of his regal Snow Yak Print Portfolio (covered) barely in the rear view mirror, Mark Ryden has revealed details for his next release – a set of vinyl toy figures. Over a year ago, the artist unveiled his first vinyl toy, YHWH (covered), in collaboration with Necessaries Toy Foundation. As a follow up to the original Pink figure, a Black and White version will now be released together as a limited-edition set (only 100), elegantly distributed in a gold-embossed box along with […]
