New Image Art opens their â€œOcto Pussesâ€ group exhibition this Saturday, May 2nd. The show includes a nice variety of up-and-comers and established names, featuring the work ofÂ Aaron Johnson, Antonio Diaz, Ben Jones, Cleon Peterson, Gino Perez, Judith Supine (studio visit) and Neck Face. Taking over the gallery’s project room with “Horse Radish”Â is Bast (studio visit), who makes his return to the gallery with aÂ series based on horse jockey collages. Last night’s opening for “15 Years of New Image Art” (previewed here and here) reaffirmed why New Image Art is one of the primary driving forces in the alternative/low-brow/street art scene. The show was everything we thought it would be and more – great art, an energetic crowd, and non-stop entertainment. Tonight marks the opening of New Image Art’s anniversary show “15 Years of New Image Art” (previewed). AM swung by the gallery yesterday to check out the progress of the installation. While we were there, Judith Supine was putting on the finishing touches to his 18’x16′ kinetic sculpture and Neck Face was customizing a motorcycle in his uniquely raw style.
