Booooooom Remake Contest

Our friends over at Booooooom currently have a contest running that tests your composition as well as photography skills. In conjunction with Adobe, the website is taking entries for their Remake competition where participants are encouraged to re-imagine one of their favorite pieces of art, stage the replica, and then submit a photograph of it. The prize is a copy of the entire Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection ($899). Deadline is October 21st with full rules here. For inspiration, check out more examples after the jump…

Starting in October 2011, 60 cultural institutions across Southern California will be joining forces to support Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A. from 1945 to 1980 with programming, events, and exhibitions that tell the progression of the L.A. art scene as well as the worlds of music, film and architecture. Our friends over at Very Nearly Almost have graciously decided to run a giveaway on the newest issue of their magazine here on AM. Not only does issue #16 feature a good slate of artists like Kid Zoom, Will Barras, TrustoCorp, but this is the special edition with a 3 color screenprint from Invader on the cover signed by the French street artist and in a numbered edition of 150 (this one is an AP). Kai & Sunny have just released a new screen-print entitled Ghost Flower as featured as a large format image at their recent London exhibition at StolenSpace, The Flower Show. We’re pretty enthralled by their dynamic imagery and thought that this image was one of the stand-outs of the show. After prominent public interventions in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, you’ve probably got the memo that no place is too far to travel for the urban collective known as TrustoCorp. Check out their latest project poking fun at our secret guilty pleasure – the tabloid magazines. Congratulations to the winners of our last two signed Lister poster giveaways.
