Basel Week Miami ’14: Damien Hirst @ Paul Stolper Gallery

Mirroring an exhibition (covered) several months ago at the Paul Stolper Gallery in London was a display of Damien Hirst’s oversized pharmaceuticals at their Art Basel Miami booth. The Schizophrenogenesis works consist of sculptural renditions that are an extension of his pill cabinet pieces as well as his fascination with the medical field as well as screen prints. For their 25th anniversary issue, British GQ enlisted the help of Damien Hirst to design the cover along with Rihanna. Styled with snakes entwined on the R&B singer’s body and on her head as well as slit eye contacts, the spread certainly has references to the mythical Medusa.
