Streets: EWOK & Sever (Israel)

Since we last reported on EWOK (coverage of his show at Known Gallery) and Sever (Montana Cans Across America), the two MSK members have join forces while taking a trip to Israel.  Not only did they get up on numerous walls with beautiful complex pieces like the one above, they also took time to leave tributes to the recently freed REVOK – one of them on the Hebron Police Precinct! Openings: George Thompson – “Revisionist History” @ Known Gallery

George Thompson, also known as EWOK, recently unveiled a solo exhibition of works at LA’s own Known Gallery.  The show is centered around a world where the Ku Klux Klan plays competitive organized basketball. Although the artist has played with the idea before in pieces that have been included in group shows, he wanted to expand it further and continue the conversation in a full-scale exhibition.  Thompson feels that although racism still exists in today’s society, it is rarely directly addressed.  The juxtaposition shown in […]
