Openings: “Buddy System Invitational” @ Breeze Block Gallery

Earlier this month, the Buddy System Invitational (curated by Sven Davis) opened at the Breeze Block Gallery in Portland. Openings: “Wider than a postcard” & olive47 – “bonita bonita” @ Breeze Block Gallery

Breeze Block Gallery opened their huge group show Wider than a postcard (previewed) alongside the first solo show in their new gallery 2 space – olive47’s bonita bonita (featured) a couple of weeks back to a packed Portland crowd. Over 400 individual works went into the postcard show with 200 artists providing postcard sized works. This weekend, the Guerrero Gallery gallery will feature exhibitions from both Hilary Pecis and Erin M. Riley. Entitled Consensus, Pecis takes over 100 unaltered image files sourced from Google images to create her artistic compositions. Erin M. Riley presents a new body of work called Forgotten in a File featuring her signature woven tapestries exploring the lives of the internet generation with imagery depicting social media interaction and addiction. AM recently attended the star studded charity art show Made In Polaroid held at Phillips de Pury. The benefit was a one night auction that featured 50 works created by the 50-50-50 project using Polaroid’s mobile printer. All proceeds went to support Free Arts NYC.
