Last Friday, the C.A.V.E. Gallery and Brooklyn Street Art in collaboration with Thinkspace presented an exhibit titled 39 Stories: Street Art Saved My Life. “A crazy fun and visually arresting experience” – that’s our take on the opening night of New York-based Judith Supine. As previewed, the exhibition at New Image Art entitled Ladyboy touches on an intimate encounter that the artist once had in Bangkok. Ladyboy, a solo exhibition by collagist Judith Supine, opens at New Image Art in West Hollywood on Wednesday, 13 April. It’s already been three years since the 2008 Dirt Mansion installation — the artist’s first solo effort at English Kills Art Gallery in Brooklyn. While in town, he took time to throw up several of his signature “green skinned” collaged pieces including one that was put in New Image Art’s show (covered) in Miami for Art Basel Week.
