Tonight at Diane Rosenstein Gallery in Los Angeles, the evolution of graffiti will be on view with a new solo show from one of the most subversive artists out there – KATSU. Entitled Drone, the exhibition continues the New York-based writer’s experimentation with incorporating technology into his work with paintings created by using a mountable remote sprayer on a quadcopter drone. After a close look at the creation of three murals (Eine, Miss Van, Maya Hayuk) for the Coney Art Walls, we now have an recap of the event for you to enjoy. After introducing KATSU’s drone paintings to you last year, we now have news of the infamous graffiti artist taking things to the next level. Known for his innovative approach to incorporating technology in some of his work, he recently tagged a six-story Calvin Klein ad featuring Kendall Jenner at the Houston-and-Broadway intersection of New York with a flying drone rigged with a spray can. Keeping things going, we have another Rewind summary for you this week. First up is origami artist Sipho Mabona, who recently folded a life-sized elephant from a since giant sheet of paper. He and his team of nearly a dozen people worked over four weeks to create the 10 foot tall sculpture. Openings: Hueless @ Mallick Williams & Co.

We recently attended the opening of Hueless, a group show of black and white works at Malick Williams & Co. Although the exhibition may have lacked color, it certainly did not lack artistry, with an exciting selection of monochromatic pieces by the likes of D Face, Shepard Fairey, Erik Haze, Curtis Kulig, Pete Watts and Skullphone.
