Coming up on March 2nd, Thinkspace in Los Angeles will continue to show Kevin Peterson with a new exhibition entitled Wild. Known for his beautiful paintings of children passing through urban environments with their animal companions, the Houston-based painter looks to not be deviating from this formula for his new body of work. Previews: “Suggestivism: Resonance 2018” @ Spoke Art (New York)

On July 7th, Spoke Art’s New York location will be hosting the Suggestivism: Resonance 2018 group exhibition. The long running series of shows are the brainchild of artist Nathan Spoor, who is curating the roster as well as contributing a piece to the show. On June 9th, a massive group show will open at Antler Gallery in Portland entitled LAX/PDX. Moniker ’17 / Previews: Kevin Peterson @ Thinkspace Gallery

Another artist showing with Thinkspace at the Moniker Art Fair (which opened today) in London was Kevin Peterson. Joining Brian Viveros (previewed), Audrey Kawasaki (previewed), Cinta Vidal, David Cooley, Dulk, and Telmo Miel with solo booths, the Houston-based artist contributed more of his signature paintings with children and their animal companions in urban environments, with a crown being the common denominator that draws this new body of work together. Following up on news of his recent album cover with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kevin Peterson will be opening an exhibition on August 20th at Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City. Entitled Sovereign, the solo from the Houston-based artist will be hosted in the main space. Album Covers: Kevin Peterson x Red Hot Chili Peppers

For their new album, The Getaway, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have decided to use the work of Kevin Peterson on the cover. The image chosen was cropped from the Houston-based artist’s Coalition II painting (seen below), some of his instantly recognizable imagery of children strolling through urban environments with their animal companions. Basel Week Miami ’15 / Showing: SCOPE

One of the first satellite fairs we hit during Basel Week Miami was SCOPE Miami, situated nicely in their pavilion on the beach off Ocean Drive. Celebrating its 15th anniversary edition with 120 international exhibitors from 22 countries and 57 cities, the fair had something for everyone including this Suck Face bronze from D*Face seen above and the Felipe Pantone installation seen directly below. Previews: “Invisible College” @ Fort Wayne Museum of Art

This weekend, a show co-curated by Andrew and Shawn Hosner of Los Angeles’ Thinkspace Gallery and Josef Zimmerman of the Fort Wayne Museum of Art will open at the museum. Entitled Invisible College, the group exhibition refers to the fact that many of the participants have found success outside of the traditional art educational model.
