“When Lucent Found Herakut” @ Palace Theater

Streets: Retna (Los Angeles)

Even though he’s currently preparing for a show at Known Gallery this upcoming weekend with fellow 7th letter member ZES, RETNA took the time to hit the streets of Los Angeles again. Openings: Matthew Bone, Soey Milk, Bonnie Reid, Christine Wu @ La Luz de Jesus

Last weekend, four artists presented a selection of their work at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles. For this showing, Matthew Bone blended some elements of pop culture with his provocative imagery, Bonnie Reid explored the darker sides of childhood in her work, Christine Wu introduced flickering images of her characters in flux, while Soey Milk painted her ladies holding symbols of agony and pleasure. RETNA for Metropolitan Hotel

Notorious Los Angeles writer RETNA (featured), who we saw go all in for the Boneyard Project in Arizona, recently also released photos of some work he did in the garage of the Metropolitan Hotel. Repping his crew with his signature calligraphy, you can see the words As We Rise, Mad Society Kings, and The Seventh Letter in the background. Also included were walls that were shoutouts to other members as well as his alter-ego Brimstone. See more photos after the jump by Gypsy One.
