A few days ago, artist David Flores and photographer Phil Stern unveiled their joint exhibition at the Phil Stern Gallery showcasing an incredible collection of timeless images blending Stern’s photography and Flores’ unique design. The pictures included iconic personalities ranging from Marilyn Monroe, John F. Kennedy, Frank Sinatra, and James Dean, just to name a few. Just yesterday, we brought you progress shots of Anthony Lister (interviewed) and his latest mural (covered) taking place on the famed Barracuda Wall. For the younger collectors out there in Los Angeles, there is good news as the Affordable Art Fair will be in town from January 18th – 22nd for their debut showing. Held on the event deck at L.A. Live, the goal is to present contemporary art priced from $100 – $10,000, with half of the work under $5,000. Tomorrow night (December 8th) in Venice, California, Casey Weldon will be presenting a new set of works at Gallery 1988. Groty will be the first solo show in Los Angeles for the Brooklyn-based painter and will feature more of his surreal portraiture that we have enjoyed in various group shows up to this point. Over the weekend, Stephen Webster (located in Beverly Hills) opened up their 2nd floor gallery space with an exhibition curated by the Corey Helford Gallery. One of the ones we are looking forward to opens on January 7th at Thinkspace.
