Over the past couple years, every time we have stopped by Yoskay Yamamoto’s (interviewed) studio for a visit (here, here and here), we saw evidence of some pretty sweet customs he had been working on when he had extra time. Taking classic toys and figures and remixing them with wood, clay, and paint, the new pieces were changed to have classic Yamamoto features. Last week in Los Angeles at Taschen Books, Mark Ryden held a signing for his comprehensive publication – Pinxit. As we witnessed during the Art Basel Miami release party (here), this is the “bible” for collectors of the renowned low brow artist’s work as its 366 pages Ryden’s 20 year career and art like no other book can.
