Having shown AM readers some outdoor work that was put up as part of Street a.k.a. Outdoor/Streets: “Street a.k.a. Museum” @ Portsmouth Museum of Art – New Hampshire

In yet another example of street art and graffiti’s acceptance and proliferation in fine art institutions across America, the Portsmouth Museum of Art hosts Street a.k.a. Museum, curated by LeBasse Projects’ Beau LeBasse. The exhibition, which opened on May 11 and runs until Sept. 11 features familiar names: Bumblebee, Herakut (fresh off their beautification of Los Angeles), Shark Toof, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, and Andreas von Chrzanowski. The showing is the second part of a two part exhibition, the first of which was in LA featuring the […]

Streets: Herakut with Case (Los Angeles)

Making use of their time in Los Angeles wisely (also see their street piece in Culver City), German duo Hera and Akut moved on to their next project – a wall with fellow Ma’claim crew member Case aka Andreas von Chrzanowski. Streets: Herakut (Los Angeles)

With a little down time between the opening of Outside/In at LeBasse Projects and moving on to New Hampshire for the second part of their group show, Herakut worked their magic on a couple walls (arranged by the gallery and Warren Brand) in Los Angeles. The pensive children featured on the murals seemed to have a lighter feel when compared to the indoor work perhaps in no small part influenced by an in-person photo reference. More photos after the jump thanks to Jeremy Asher Lynch.

Openings: “Outside/In” @ LeBasse Projects

Last night, AM headed out to Culver City for the lone show on our schedule at LeBasse Projects. It was certainly worth the trip as we were greeted by work from a nice selection of artists in the Outside/In group show including Case, Herakut, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, SharkToof and Bumblebee. As a bonus, most of the participants were on hand before they head out to New Hampshire for the second part of the show at the Portsmouth Museum of Art. More opening pics after the jump…
