Releases: Jasper Wong – “POW! WOW! x HYPERFLY” Collaboration

Tomorrow at 10am, HYPERFLY will be releasing a collaboration with POW! WOW! founder Jasper Wong on their website. The collaboration between the Hawaii-based artist and the brand from the world of Jiu-Jitsu will feature a Gi, pants, rash guard and bag with the design inspired Wong’s studies in Kung Fu, as well as the saying, “catch a tiger by the tail.” Take a look at more photos below… Discuss Jasper Wong here.

Upcoming: POW! WOW! Long Beach 2018

Running from June 24-30, the fourth edition of POW! WOW! Long Beach (see 2015, 2016, 2017) will be fast upon us with another great lineup of artists (see below). With this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii fast approaching, it’s time to preview the annual associated Exploring The New Contemporary Movement group exhibition (see 2017 & 2016 & 2015 & 2014) curated by Thinkspace. The fifth iteration of the group exhibition will open on February 11th and will once again be held at the Honolulu Museum of Art School, featuring a larger 24″ x 24″ format. POW! WOW! Hawaii ’16 / Previews: Exploring The New Contemporary Movement” @ Honolulu Museum of Art School

This Sunday, POW! WOW! Hawaii (more info here) kicks off with a re-occurring show curated by Thinkspace at the Honolulu Museum of Art School entitled Exploring The New Contemporary Movement (see 2016 & 2015 & 2014). As in the past, the format is 12 x 12″ works, leading to a visually congruent display of artworks, some of which were inspired by island life. Following up a successful inaugural event (covered) last year in Tokyo, POW! WOW! Japan is back with the 2016 (October 17-22) edition in a new location. Streets / Recap: POW! WOW! Worcester

A couple weeks ago, POW! WOW! Worcester welcomed in artists from 8 different countries as well as locally from Massachusetts. In association with the event, there were gallery shows and other activities, but the main draw was the live painting (like in other POW! WOW! events around the world).
