Showing: Clayton Brothers – “Open to the Public” @ Mark Moore Gallery

The last time we saw a solo show from the Clayton Brothers in Los Angeles (covered), it was 2011. Showing through this weekend, the exhibition at the Mark Moore Gallery gives Angelino fans of the talented and respected artists another chance to check out the new body of work featuring mixed-media drawings, assemblage, photography, video, and installations. Open to the Public draws its inspiration and eclectic setup from the Sun Thrift Store in Sunland, a famous local “thrifting mecca” and includes not just the brothers’ paintings but […]

AM congratulates Marsea Goldberg and the entire New Image Art team on an amazing fifteen years! See all the artwork and photos from the opening after the jump.

Opening: The Piece Process @ Anonymous

A spirited crowd came out last night for the opening of “The Piece Process” at Anonymous Gallery on New York’s Lower East Side. The concept: connect pop/urban/graffiti/street artists from the last fifty years through an exhibition of their sketches, studies and preliminary works. Although some of the pieces seemed to represent the idea of process better than others, the collection of names represented was nothing short of impressive: from Ray Johnson, Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat to Aiko, Judith Supine and the Clayton Brothers. Our […]
