This Friday marks the opening of ART LA 2009, the New Los Angeles International Contemporary Art Fair, featuring a lineup of sixty emerging and blue-chip galleries.
Taking place at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport, the galleries being exhibited represent a wide sampling of today’s contemporary art scene. Half of the exhibitors are based locally, highlighting what’s hot in Los Angeles, and the other half are from the rest of the United States and abroad, providing insight into the trends and influences present in the rest of the scene.
Patrons can expect to see the latest and most paramount contemporary art being produced today. ART LA will also include performances, a programming series, and special exhibitions. The fair runs from January 23rd – 25th.
