Merry Karnowsky Gallery has just released an image from Camille Rose Garcia’s upcoming show that we first told you about here.  This painting which shares the same name as the title of exhibition, “The Hydra of Babylon,” measures an enormous 60″ x 84″ and depicts a Greek hydra (a nine-headed serpent) struggling underwater with an eagle.  This painting is definitely representative of the imagery for this show described as “animal symbolism borrowed from Greek mythology and inspired by intricate islamic patterning.”

The show opens September 12th so mark your calendars.  More related coverage to follow soon…
