AM had the pleasure of stopping by Merry Karnowsky yesterday to visit with Camille Rose Garcia as she was getting ready for her show “The Hydra of Babylon.” The gallery crew were in the early stages of preparing for Saturday’s opening as Camille showed us her exciting new body of work consisting paintings (the largest of which seen above – previewed), embellished drawings, and also prints (past and present). There will be three new canvas giclees available in low editions at the opening, hand finished by Camille herself – they look fantastic.
More after the jump…
Something to look forward to at the show will be a large wall “mural” piece seen partially above (first seen at the Scope Art Fair during Armory Week this year). Also available will be her PITCO plushes that we first told you about in March.
Included in this exhibit was the “Lil Elorphant” drawing that Camille created for a print to benefit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust that we told you about here. Take a look at more of what you will see at the opening in the gallery below. Hope to see you all there.
